gratitude-a-thon day 14: small bites friday

Unknown-2

Not that I’m actually up that late, but if I were, I’d watch this. Liz Lemon must be jealous.

Yes. I have experienced this first hand. It’s a truly beautiful thing. Aloha.

I am reading “Where’d You Go Bernadette” by Maria Semple. And I am laughing my head off. Strap on the Depends Undergarments for this one.

Lice does not live on bedding, or clothing. You can only get it from head-to-head physical contact. Glad I did all that laundry.

Tonight we are going to say goodbye to Jake at Barcelona Wine Bar before he goes to the real Barcelona tomorrow. I love a good theme dinner. I can taste the tears and the Chicken Al Pimientos now.

Leave it to The Onion to decide who goes to Syria.

Exactly what I’m talking about. I’m going to try this next time, although Brookline parking cops aren’t that reasonable.

“The Thing About Dogs” (http://vimeo.com/71336599)  is perfect. Just like dogs.

An inventive and all too-true song.

I figure I’m going to need a couple of these from crying after I leave Jake at the airport.

You mean all that perfect marriage stuff wasn’t true between Khloe and Lamar? I thought it was a REALITY SHOW.

The story of one of the worst fonts out there. I vote it off the island, too.

Not a Calvin & Hobbes fan, but this is nicely done.

Were those sweat pants I slept in huddled under my covers last night?

Because you know, it’s too exhausting to eat your fries and your burger separately.

Lena Dunham. The best thing to happen to women’s body image since Spanx.

This is brilliant! Go Upworthy.

Broadchurch is a really good show. British accents get me every time.

Bryan Cranston is coming the A.R.T. getting tickets today. Definitely not “bad.”

And it’s another addition of small bites Friday! Yipee!

As if it wasn’t enough to have a month long ordeal with an infection and a root canal. I find out yesterday I now have a crack in a tooth, which will actually need to be REMOVED, and another re-root canal BECAUSE both ARE infected. You’d think I was from England. Gratitude to Dr. Les Miller. Sympathies to me.

Well, isn’t this interesting? Somewhat of in indictment of football all by itself. And a big fat yes to that.

Antoinette Tuff is just the freaking bomb. What a lady. This Anderson Cooper interview tells the story of a real hero, and a totally adorable and inspiring woman.

WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT. An all-bacon restaurant. I’d definitely make a pig of myself!

And speaking of foods I love, here are 6 more reasons (besides that they’re just so damn delish) to eat avocados.

I love the whole google doodle thing. Yesterday’s was really beautiful.

This is a really good list of unnecessary things you must get immediately.

It’s been sunny for like 7 days in a row and the party isn’t going to end any time soon.

A melange of tiny little gratitudes because, ya know,  it’s Friday.

I am overwhelmed by the total sweetness of this video of a baby panda meeting her mom for the first time. This is like a 1,008 on the cuteness scale.

I didn’t even know these places existed, let alone that I should go see them.

I am reading the amazing Ernie Schenk’s book, The Houdini Solution. And dare I say, it’s magic.

New Series on BBC–Broadchurch. I’m loving it, not to mention dying to go to Dorset, where it’s filmed.

Man, I loved Chris Farley. I’m going to have to read this book.

The weather of the last week should be CANNED AND SOLD DURING NEW ENGLAND WINTERS.

The upcoming Target collaboration with Philip Lim looks amazing.

I am so grateful for Seth at my insurance company who really went above and beyond in getting me coverage for my lost/stolen watch. Thanks, Seth.

This is heavy, but lovely.

Jake doesn’t leave until September 8, but I’m watching some of the other kids leave, that I’ve known since they were teeny, and I’m  wishing  them all the best stuff there is as they embark on the exciting, drunken, enlightening years of college.

Downton Abbey preview. I simply CANNOT wait.

And it’s another edition of Small Bites Friday. Yum!

Yesterday, my friend Ron set up my new G4, which has been in the box in the corner of my office, since January. Wowza, this thing is billboard-sized awesome. Thanks, Ron. You are my man.

Sanjay Gupta changes his mind about weed. Hey, maybe he’s high.

You have to give it up to Robert and Doris Moody who have been married for 73 years. They eat one of my all time, highest ranked foods, pancakes everyday. And they’re 95 and 94. I’m getting out the Bisquick right now.

You can’t win if you don’t play, and I didn’t play or win, but this dude did. Congrats, man. Hope you have a blast spending it.

Learning something new is good for us. Cheese making, anyone?

I love when Target does a collaboration. This Phillip Lim looks like a good one. Here’s to affordable design for the masses, baby!

It’s not just another birthday, it’s another opportunity to eat more chocolate.

Another reason, the world should be going to the dogs. Loyalty. Gosh, I love them.

I am still having awful tooth pain, but GRATITUDE to all the scientists who worked on making Hydrocodone and Advil. Without them, you’d hear me screaming through cyberspace.

Maybe Weiner could have a new career in meteorology?

As a frequent chicken eater, this article was really tasty, I mean, helpful.

He didn’t do much I liked when he was president, but this, THIS makes me love the guy.

I am not a huge “royal watcher,” but I found it absolutely adorable to see Kate and Will leave the hospital with George. Also, I loved that Kate was so willing to show off her post-baby bump, which I hid in a giant sweater and leggings when I left the hospital. She probably just helped millions of woman not to feel so bad about still looking preggers after having the baby.

I am ga ga over the song “One Love.” I can’t seem to get sick of it, but here’s a really gorgeous sort of extension by Mary Lambert, who sings the chorus. It’s perfect.

Saturday Night Live is funny, but it’s even funnier when the characters laugh, too.

I know I shouldn’t like the song “Blurred Lines,” but it’s the most perfect dance song ever. This is a pretty funny take-off though, especially for a dogophile, like moi.

gratitude-a-thon day 171: small bites friday (really hot edition)

Adam Levine is getting married. Phew, my marriage is safe.

Uber good idea. I scream. You scream.

In this heat, it’s lemonade. Here’s why you’re reaching for it.

The Emmy’s killed off  Dexter’s nomination. Boo.

Perry signed the abortion bill, and these ladies did not take it sitting down. Way to lay, girls.

I loved her in That Girl, now she’s telling us how to stay optimistic. Thanks, Ann Marie, I mean, Marlo.

Good news if your memory is going to the dogs.

I sometimes run away from my reflection too.

Two of U.S News’ Best Hospitals are right here in Boston. Makes me feel pretty good.

Well, at least it isn’t going to be 100.
