gratitude-a-thon day 15: palm trees

When I was a kid growing up in Connecticut, I was OBSESSED with palm trees. . When I finally saw them for real, I became even more obsessed. They mean warm weather. And yeah, I’m thinking what a good idea that would be right about now.

  1. I love them too. That is one thing that I thought was fun about the North Carolina coast. I feel I can drive to palm trees from Chapel Hill and feel like I’m someplace tropical for the weekend. And we still get four seasons. Actually, I bought a palm tree at the farmers market last year and I planted it in the back yard near the screen porch to enjoy. I wanted to plant some things that wouldn’t grow up north. I am wondering how tall it will get. The other fun tree we planted was a banana tree. We had a icy snow last night with cold temps this week, so I hope they are both ok.

    1. so jealous. that’s what i would do, too–plant stuff we sad new englanders can’t have. curious to see how palm tree progresses. also wondering how it felt last night. probably not used to the cold. keep me posted on flora and fauna! xoxo
