gratitude-a-thon day 949: please prevent the apocalypse: please vote.

This election.

Some days I feel like I’m reading The Onion, and not the New York Times. It’s like if Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus and the cast of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest had a kid, it would be this election.

Although one of our candidates is really in truly not fit to be president ( actually not  fit to be anything professional that I can think of), we all have to get out there and vote. In fact, because that one opponent is not at all equipped to serve as POTUS,  IT’S EVEN MORE IMPORTANT THAT YOU TAKE YOUR HINEY TO THE POLLS.

Please don’t tell me you don’t care, because you do. You live here and the outcome of this election could make things really different, but not good different . And don’t tell me you hate both the candidates, because it doesn’t matter–these are our choices. And don’t give me any back talk about your vote not mattering, because you know damn well if everybody said that, it would illustrate that every vote does matter.

I mean, we could all sit around laughing that this is where we are right now, because let’s face it, SNL is pretty much writing itself these days, but the sober truth is, this is our election and our country.

I hope you will vote for the candidate I believe is really our only candidate, but more than that, I hope you vote. It’s your responsibility (even though this year it feels to some  just like taking the trash out, and doing the laundry–a chore you’re not excited about). But please, I beg you to get to the polls and do your thing. I promise not to ask you who you cast your ballot for (but sweet Jesus, I hope it was Hillary).
