gratitude-a-thon day 277: ha, ha, ha

Love Dennis Leary. We have the same favorite word.

Laughing is good. Laughing is better than good. It’s gold, it’s a Maserati, it’s a private Hawaiian Island inhabited by all your friends, it’s a stack of pancakes with syrup and butter, a pair of jeans that makes your ass look like Gisele’s. Yes sir, laughing is the freaking holy grail. Give me the question and nine times out of ten, laughing is the best answer and sometime the only answer.

Me, with the devil’s eyes, Nicole and Peter getting ready to laugh.

Last night I laughed until my face hurt. It hurt. It literally HURT. Comics Come Home, Cam Neely’s cancer fundraiser is a total laugh riot. And for a good cause, no less. Dennis Leary is the only person who can say “fuck” more than I do. There were some familiar names, like Lenny Clark, who has lost like half his body weight and came out in a neon orange pair of hip huggers that made him look like a chic road worker. There was Tracy Morgan of 30 Rock fame, and Jimmy Fallon doing a Jim Morrison song, and then a bunch of comics I didn’t know who really killed. John Mulaney, Gary Gulman, Tom Cotter and Robert Kelly were comedy perfection. I was glad I had on my Depends Undergarment.

Thanks NIcole and Dave for asking us to join you. With a dog who has a bad back right now, I couldn’t have imagined better medicine (for me, that is). I wish there was a comedy show Riley could go to.

  1. Brilliant (and funny), hope your first paragraph goes viral:

“Laughing is good. Laughing is better than good. It’s gold, it’s a Maserati, it’s a private Hawaiaan Island inhabited by all your friends, it’s a stack of pancakes with syrup and butter, a pair of jeans that makes your ass look like Gisele’s. Yes sir, laughing it the freaking holy grail. Give me the question and nine times out of ten, laughing is the best answer and sometime the only answer.”

    Thank you!
