gratitude-a-thon day 536: good design

I love design. I can sit for hours looking at architecture, clothing, flower arrangements, jewelry, furniture, and exactly how it’s put together. I adore typefaces, and the way a page in a magazine or ad, or website, or greeting card is laid out. I like to study the patterns on beautiful china, what the perfect coffee cup looks like, the lines of an intricate old chair, of the simplicity of a new one. The color, the fabric, the mix of textures. The world is designed, not all of it, well, but what is done beautifully, fascinates, inspires, and invigorates me. Check out this amazing shortlist for the “Building of the year” awards. Gawd, I love that “Iceberg” project.

The Iceberg project in Denmark. As Liz Lemon would say, “I want to go there.”
