gratitude-a-thon day 109: brene brown

Bene Brown, PhD is not only insanely smart, but funny, too.

I’m not sure how I have not heard about Brene Brown before. I feel a little like I’ve been living under a rock in a a cave on the moon, but Oprah, in her magazine, that I still love, just opened my eyes to her in an interview. This woman has some astounding stuff to say about connection and vulnerability and a whole bunch of other stuff that’s really important to our happiness. And in case you’ve been living next to me under a rock in a cave on the moon, you’ll find her TED talk WOWEEEE enlightening, like I did. In fact, I’m going to go read everything this woman has to say.

Take a minute to watch this (full disclosure, it’s 20 minutes, but it’s really, really good stuff).

    1. i will watch whatever miss brown has to say, because she’s smart and funny–a winning combo! i am still stumped by how this lady got past me……

  1. Joining you under the rock. All of a sudden, everyone I know is talking about this woman. I saw the Vulnerability talk last week (it’s great to pop an ipad on the windowsill while doing the dishes or cooking). Won me over completely. I have the two-part interview on Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday on my DVR. Come watch with me! I’m actually thinking of starting a little book group (in person or virtual) to do her new book together. You interested? (Never ceases to amaze me that you and I are on the same wavelength, Toni!)

    1. i am utterly stunned that you didn’t know brene. i’d have practically bet my kids she’d be on your speed dial! i’d be really into doing a virtual book thing. let’s go, babe! which book? she has two, right? yeah, we’re on the same wavelength alright. it’s called the “we’re open to everything” channel! oxoxoxo
